Training

With the desire to take personal responsibility for my own health, in 1997 I began my training in 'Reiki Level I' followed by 'Reiki Level II'. I wanted to be less reliant on regular treatments and believed that the cure to my health problems lay in my own hands and not in those of anyone else. I initially used Reiki on myself, family, friends and family pets.

In 1998 I studied 'Indian Head Massage' with Penny Upchurch, so that I could offer a treatment that relaxed the upper back, neck and head region. So many people I know suffer from tightness caused by stress in these areas, with the usual symptoms of headaches, neck tension and eyestrain from long hours spent in front of a computer. It was inspiring to know that all I needed for the treatment was a chair, which allows me to do it anywhere with great results in just half an hour.

In the same year I began training to be a 'Reflexologist' with Elaine Gibson at the Peterson School of Reflexology, fascinated with the premise that the body's structures and organs are mapped out on the feet. From my own personal experience, I knew how effective this healing technique could be and it still amazes me to this day the kind of healing experiences my clients have during and after a treatment.

In 2001/2002 my own health took an about turn while studying 'Nutritional Therapy' at the College of Natural Nutrition. I applied what I learnt on myself with the result that 13 years of chronic back pain and three years of sciatica within a year disappeared. I had always believed that given the right environment and tools the body could regenerate itself. With total commitment and perseverance, my conviction was rewarded tenfold!

In 2005 I trained in 'Creative Healing' with Dr Gowri Motha to become a 'Jeyarani Way Gentle Birth Practitioner' incorporating Creative Healing with Reflexology, Nutrition and Reiki working with pregnant and post-natal mothers. Women at this time are particularly in need of support, it is an exciting yet physically and emotionally demanding period.

Out of my desire to continue working with the mothers I had treated, I trained in 2005 to become a 'Baby Massage Instructor' with the International Association of Infant Massage. I see touch as a vital ingredient to the health of a newborn and developing infant, as well as being extremely beneficial to the child-parent relationship. The benefits of a loving and nurturing touch cannot be underestimated.

In 2008 after two years of training and guidance at the Barnes Healing Church, London I became a full member of the NFSH (National Federation of Spiritual Healers).

I continue to further my professional development by attending workshops and advance trainings, to date these have included: Lynne Booth (VRT - Vertical Reflex Therapy), Chris Stormer (Emotional Aspects of the feet), Inge Dougans (Reflexology & Meridian Therapy), Suzanne Enzer (Maternity Reflexology), Hedwige Dirkx (Lymphatic Stimulation Reflexology), Dr. Christine Page (Enhancing the Power of Intuition), Caroline Myss (Energy Healing), Martin Brofman (The Body Mirror System of Healing), Renbardou Complementary Therapy Training (Pregnancy & Labour Reflexology), Robin Windows (Channelling and Healing), Teresa Leong (Psychic development), Natalia & Terry O'Sullivan (Soul Rescue), Nutritional Scientific Conference, BioCare Nutritional seminars.
